Lucky Number 7

You’ve met the 5, now meet the 7.

Mr. Raymond Tan, Head of Sales (left) and Mr. Han Sang Yun, Managing Director & CEO, BMW Group Malaysia, with the all-new BMW740Le xDrive.

The BMW 740Le xDrive – the newest BMW 7 Series variant – is now available in the country. Another hybrid vehicle (the “e” in “740Le”) from BMW, the new ride joins its eco-friendly brethren the BMW X5 xDrive 40e and the BMW 330e, both introduced last year.

With the best innovations in combustion engines and electric drive systems, the BMW 740Le xDrive boasts electrifying performance with significantly reduced emissions and similarly lowered fuel consumption.

Business in the front…

Powering the whole operation is the latest 2.0 litre four-cylinder in-line engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo expertise derived from the EfficientDynamics engine family of the BMW Group, with a maximum output of 258 hp with a peak torque of 400 Nm.

Should you opt to go pure electric, you’ll be pleased to know that the it will get you a maximum output of 113 hp and a peak torque of 250 Nm, up to a maximum range of 41 km.

Make no mistake; this may be a hybrid, but this is still a BMW first and foremost – luxury coupled with performance.

Meanwhile, with a gross energy capacity of 9.2 kWh, the high-voltage lithium-ion battery of the BMW 740Le xDrive can be recharged from any domestic power socket. A full charge through the BMW i Wallbox Connect can be achieved in under five hours and the charging process managed via either the BMW Remote app on a smartphone or the graphic in the car’s instrument cluster.

As part of the BMW 360° ELECTRIC program, owners of the All-New BMW 740Le xDrive join those of the BMW i8, BMW 330e and BMW X5 xDrive40e in enjoying easy access to GreenTech Malaysia’s network of 181 ChargEV stations nationwide through the BMW ChargeNow mobility service.

… party in the back.

Of course, being a 7 Series, the BMW 740Le xDrive is kitted with various in-car tech niceties, including BMW Touch Display, BMW Gesture Control, the panoramic Sky Lounge glass roof, and a 16-Speaker 600w Harman Kardon Surround Sound System.

The BMW 740Le xDrive is available in Black Sapphire, Imperial Blue, Mineral White, and Sophisto Grey. Inside, the upholstery is lined with exclusive Nappa leather while the interior trim finishes in Poplar Grain Grey fine-wood.

The BMW 740Le xDrive will set you back RM 598,800, after the government-approved hybrid incentive.

So go ahead – enjoy some Electronic Driving Pleasure.
