Tudor is ahead of its game with Born To Dare campaign and its Baselworld 2017 selections.
We may only be a month into the second half of the year but it’s safe to say that 2017 has been a great year for Tudor. Not only did the maison unveil another great collection at the Baselworld 2017, it also announced the brand’s new Born To Dare campaign, joining forces with David Beckham, the All Blacks, and Beauden Barrett.
Let’s start off with some of the Swiss manufacturer’s superior quality watches from its latest collection presented at Baselworld 2017.
Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chrono
Tudor welcomes its first chronograph in the Heritage Black Bay family with a self-winding movement, column wheel and vertical clutch. The timepiece also comes in fabric strap and leather strap for both sporty and vintage looks.
Tudor Heritage Black Bay 41
For those who prefer a slimmer case, the new Heritage Black Bay 41 comes in a 41-mm steel case with a choice of steel bracelet or brown leather strap, and an additional camouflage fabric strap. Elegant and sporty at the same time, the Black Bay 41 sure captures the essence of its family in a formal exterior.
Tudor Heritage Black Bay S&G
The model celebrates 60 years of Tudor’s Diver’s watches with stunning craftsmanship. Retaining the lines and proportions of the Black Bay, the rotating bezel and the winding crown are made from gold to bring a new expression to the watch while the central link is dressed in metal.
Tudor Heritage Black Bay Steel
The Heritage Black Bay Steel introduces a date function to the Black Bay family for the first time. The self-winding mechanical movement is powered by the high-performance Manufacture Calibre MT5612 with a 70 hour power reserve.
Tudor Clair de Rose
Tudor redefines its lady’s collection with the new Clair de Rose. The elegant timepiece with a feminine touch is available exclusively in steel and comes in three sizes and six designs to suit any wrist and any dress. The steel case with polished finish houses a Calibre self-winding movement with power reserve up to 38 hours.
Now we arrive at my favourite part of this story. Earlier this year, Tudor announced its Born To Dare campaign that reflects the history of the brand and what it stands for today. The campaign’s spirit is expressed in its manifesto below.
“We are devoted to the classic. But reject the status quo.
We keep the best of the past, the best watchmaking practices, the best designs.
And push the boundaries of what’s new.
Born for a purpose. Field-tested to the extreme.
For those who are up for anything.
For those who face their fears.
For those who reinvent themselves every day, a Tudor is born to dare.”
Keeping in line with the manifesto, Tudor scores a partnership with David Beckham and kicks off its new campaign featuring the world class footballer as the face.
“I was attracted to Tudor by the attention to detail I could see in their watches. I then learned about the history of the brand. One of adventure, pioneer diving and daring expeditions. I was instantly hooked,” proclaims the husband of Victoria Beckham and devoted father of four.
Beckham’s personal picks are the Black Bay S&G, a vintage-inspired steel and gold diver’s watch, and the Black Bay Chrono, a COSC-certified chronograph. Both are new selections introduced at the Baselworld 2017.
Tudor signs David Beckham as its ambassador as his daring approach to life fits perfectly with the campaign’s manifesto. Now a highly admired living football legend, Beckham is also a philanthropist, an entrepreneur and a global style icon, no one bends it quite like Beckham when achieving success in life.
Tudor also proudly welcomes the most successful international rugby team of all time, the All Blacks, and its leading player Beauden Barrett to the Born To Dare campaign in conjunction with the upcoming 2017 DHL New Zealand Lions Series.
In the campaign image above, the All Blacks and Beauden Barrett wear the Black Bay Dark, a vintage-inspired all-black steel diver’s watch which matches their team colours perfectly.
The number one team in the rugby world is led by Beauden Barret, who wears the No 10 jersey in the first five-eighth position. His style is daring and decisive, which is the essence of the Tudor’s new campaign. Barrett reinvents himself constantly and that brings him from the bench to the top of the world.
As an extension of its commitment with the All Blacks, Tudor also is the proud Official Sponsor of the DHL New Zealand Lions Series 2017, the prestigious international rugby series.
