Hustle for Truffle!

Edible ‘diamonds’ all the way from Europe at Nobu Kuala Lumpur.

Experience the earthy aroma of Truffle Season this month at Nobu Kuala Lumpur. Specially flown in from Europe, two kinds of truffles – the Summer Black Truffle from Alba, Italy and the Perigord Truffle from France – will be incorporated in the restaurant’s Japanese-Peruvian dishes by Chef Philip Leong and team for the entire month of September.

Apart from their origins, both variations of the truffles are also significantly different in taste. Italy’s Summer Black Truffle is subtle in flavour and has a delicate nutty flavour. Having a flavour profile that is rather mild, this type of truffle is undemanding and easy to be paired with any dish.

On the other hand, the Périgord Truffle of France exudes a scent reminiscent of strawberries and dried fruits with a hint of cocoa, with its taste developing after the truffles are heated, giving you a slightly peppery taste.

The menu includes Tofu and Avocado Salad with Sesame Truffle Dressing, and White Asparagus Dry Miso with Slow Poached Egg, which are served cold while the Truffle and Foie Gras Spinach Miso Soup, and Scallop Yuzu Truffle Sauce are served hot.
