The month of October is more often than not associated with the malty goodness of beer and the merriment that it invokes in the hearts of its drinkers. However, the joy of beer has turned somewhat sour this month, for a variety of bizarre reasons. Nonetheless, fret not, for there a myriad of other alcoholic options for you to enjoy with your friends this #Drinktober.

1. Belvedere Spritz Collection

Let’s start off with a fun fact: How many of us knew that vodka dates back 600 years old to Poland, when it was distilled without any additives, enhancements or even sugar? Leaning on this vodka-making tradition, the world’s first luxury vodka maison, Belvedere has introduced to public a new series of twelve cocktail recipes with the distiller’s ‘Be Natural’ manifesto at the core. Belvedere vodkas are crafted using two main natural ingredients – the Danskowskie rye from the Mazovian plains of Poland and artesian water harvested from its own wells near Zyrardow.

The newly-introduced twelve long drinks are full of fruity flavor, low in sugar and simple to create. Faithful to the popular spritz recipe, the Belvedere Spritz is prepared with a naturally flavoured modifier, topped off with sparkling and tonic water, and finished with two fresh garnishes. 2. Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc

Popular Kiwi wine Cloudy Bay recently introduced its 2017 Sauvignon Blanc, an elegant wine revealing kaffir lime, exuberant notes of grapefruit, along with nectarine-like aromas. The brand’s latest originates from grapes grown in pristine vineyards located in the heart of the Wairau Valley, between the Richmond Ranges to the west and the Wither Hills to the east, in Marlborough, New Zealand.

3. Gin-Inspired at The Smoke House

Pay your respects to Gin Pahit, one of the oldest cocktails in Malaysia as part of Hotel Majestic’s Gin-Inspired menu featuring the namesake spirit as the core ingredient. The new campaign encompasses nine alcoholic concoctions by Beverage Director Mr. Johnnie aka Johnnie the Barman but only eight drinks appear on the menu, though, as the ninth specialty – the Gin Pahit – is by request only.

Each creation by Johnnie takes inspiration from the rich yet occasionally dark history of gin, its current trajectory as well as where the Barman sees drink heading to. Even the Gin Pahit has its variations – you can pick whether you’d like the British-era Classic Gin Pahit or Gin Pahit Succession, updated for the tamer, current palette.
