The restaurant in the sky is celebrating Mexico’s gift to the world in a cheeky way.
Fuego is now officially the place to be for weekend supper and drinks in the heart of KL city with the newly launched ‘Midnight Tacos’. Available every Friday and Saturday night from 10 pm to 1 am, the after-dinner soiree completes the whole experience with tequilas as well.
Anticipate the highlight of the night, Taco Roulette, presented as part of Midnight Tacos. The taco roulette, priced at RM195+ per platter serves six tacos of your choice (choose from chicken, beef or fish) paired with six Cimarron tequila shots. Inspired by the game of Russian roulette, the Taco Roulette features one spiked taco with habanero paste for that fiery twist. The habanero paste is a mixture of habanero chilli and chilli padi. It’s a very spicy paste with a hint of fruity taste.
Tacos are the newest addition to Fuego’s à la carte menu. This traditional Mexican dish comes in three flavours, chicken, beef and fish taco. Chef de cuisine Shaun Lazaroo shares with us that there are 4 important elements to the taco –the bread base tortilla, the main protein, garnishes such as salad and herbs and the sauce. The tortillas are made freshly prepared in-house using yellow maize flour and then chargrilled for the added flavour. Fuego features their unique squid ink buckwheat battered barramundi for the colour and crispy texture to the fish, jalapeno and pear salsa for the spicy and crunchy element and topped with fresh arugula and yuzu aioli for a fresh taste. The beef taco is made out of chipotle braised short ribs, salsa negra and oregano. The beef short ribs are smoked till its tender, salsa negra made out of roasted jalapeno and tomatoes and topped off with oregano for an earthy flavour. The chicken taco is made out of cumin and lime chicken, chilli mayo, avocado and lime as a touch of freshness.
