Rejoice Millennials! Your Chocolate Is Now Available in Malaysia

The Ruby Chocolate by Barry Callebaut debuts locally thanks to Malaysian chocolatier Harriston.

In what could arguably be one of the most successful millennial-pleasing collaborations since the launch of Supreme x Louis Vuitton collection, local chocolate brand Harriston and international chocolate manufacturer Barry Callebaut have released ruby chocolate, the fourth chocolate variety that comes in pastel millennial pink.

Invented in 2017 after 10 years of R&D, the all-natural ruby chocolate was conceived by Belgian-Swiss cocoa company Barry Callebaut when they discovered a new strain of cocoa beans that contained berry flavour on its own and turned pink when processed without artificial infusions. With this monumental discovery, the manufacturer was able to introduce to the world a fourth chocolate variation after milk, dark, and white.

Boasting an honest tagline of “A Unique Malaysian Chocolate Experience”, chocolatier Harriston has been delighting Malaysians since 2005, when they were still known as Cocoa Boutique and Chocolate Gallery. Staying true to local taste buds, they had already introduced exotic durian and tongkat ali chocolates in their repertoire. So, when they came across the opportunity to present Malaysians with the ruby chocolate via a collaboration, it was only natural that the team jumped at it.

Harriston’s ruby chocolate range will come in three variants: ruby chocolate bar, ruby chocolate thin strips and ruby chocolate coconut crunch bar. Harriston ruby chocolate bar will be sold at selected supermarkets and hypermarkets under the Harriston Artisan line alongside Harriston Artisan white, milk and dark chocolate bars, while its ruby chocolate thin strips and ruby chocolate coconut crunch bar will be available exclusively at Harriston stores under the Harriston Signature line.

Harriston currently sells its mouthwatering products through Harriston Signature, their flagship store in Taman Shamelin Perkasa, Cheras and Georgetown, Penang. Meanwhile, Harriston Boutique, an abbreviated version of the flagship stores, is located at Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands; MaTIC, Ampang; and Jalan Bagan Jermal, Penang.

All Harriston Signature products will be available at both Harriston Signature and Harriston Boutique outlets from 1 September onwards. On the other hand, Harriston Artisan products will be available at your nearest local retailers soon!
