When the sky is the limit, a wishlist is actually a checklist.
Maybe you’ve always had the thought or it just came to you after watching a small little film that came out recently by the name of Crazy Rich Asians – but how does one travel when one is “comfortable”? Inspired by the decadence in the movie, the Rachel Chu in me decided to set out on a journey of personal fulfilment to uncover the truth on what the members of the elite pick to accompany them as they jet-set around the globe, dropping wads of cash like spare change. Armed with only Google, I put my Nick Young hat on and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Without further ado, here are my findings…
1. REC 901 RS Limited Edition
When it comes to accessories of luxury, watches are definitely one of the top items in the list — like this exclusive and high in value REC 901 RS Limited Edition. The REC 901 RS dial is cut directly from a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS. The air-cooled RS (Rennsport) is one the most sought-after and legendary sports cars ever built. The Carrera RS 2.7 was the first Porsche 911-derived race car and the first production race 911 widely offered to the public. Only 1,580 were produced and prices on those still around have since skyrocketed.

4. Graf von Faber-Castell for Bentley Collection
For those who think a ball pen is not an essential item for travelling, think again. You might need to sign cheques, important documents or even fill in the immigration form. That being said, for the first time ever, Bentley Motors and Graf von Faber-Castell launched the ‘Graf von Faber-Castell for Bentley’ collection — luxurious writing instruments and accessories that perfectly combine timeless design, passion for precision and superb craftsmanship.
The fountain pens, rollerball pens and ballpoint pens share many of the exquisite design aspects found in the world of motors: For example, the pen cap was finished with the typical knurling found in cars and the distinctive Bentley ‘B’, and the characteristic diamond pattern can be found as a fine guilloche on the barrel. The front and corner pieces are polished to a gleam, and are reminiscent of the striking, chromed elements of a luxury car.
5. Rico Rinaldi x Starbucks Designer Collection
Designed exclusively for Starbucks Malaysia and available only for a limited time, the 2018 Rico Rinaldi x Starbucks Designer Collection draws inspiration from three endangered animals representing the elements of nature — Forest, Sea and Air in the form of Harimau (Tiger), Penyu (Turtle), and Kenyalang (Hornbill). Bold colors that are reminiscent of Malaysia’s heritage, flag and the diverse flora and fauna help round out the designs.
Exclusive to Malaysia, the Rico Rinaldi + Starbucks collection includes a set of Double Walled Mugs and Thermos Tumblers in three different designs. The Double Walled Mugs are priced at RM150 each, while the Thermos Tumblers are priced at RM168 each. Those looking to own all-three designs of the Double Walled Mugs can purchase them in a bundle price of RM450 or RM480 for all-three designs of the Thermos Tumblers.
