The internationally-renowned homegrown fashion designer resourcefully utilises the royal fabric for his A/W 2017 collection.
Staying true to his DNA, the influential royal couturier introduced new silhouettes and new cut techniques melded in rich metal embellishments, hand-worked embroidery and gem beadworks. The silhouettes seem structure but still allow easy movement, making the garment come alive with every turn.

High-waisted pants exhibit strong 80s influence while new neck lines, voluminous sleeves, long coats in brocade and fur, and 3-D bustier bring about interesting cameos in the collection.
Using just enough hues to lighten up the dull winter, the colour palette comprises eye-catching egg-yolk yellow, air grey, powder blue, green and bronze.

In case you have a weak spot for ‘songket’ utilised on western silhouettes, the legendary fabric-connoisseur Dame Zandra Rhodes took a whimsical route with the royal textile on her own collection recently.
