Here’s how we discovered what it really feels like to be whisked off to a floating oasis whilst still being right in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, only at Alila Bangsar.
Alila Bangsar is the latest addition in the line of hotels in Kuala Lumpur, making its mark in the vicinity of Brickfields and Bangsar. Synonymous with a sky-high haven, Alila Bangsar occupies the topmost floors of a mixed-use development known as The Establishment. Unlike most other hotel establishments, the reception at Alila is on the 41st floor, whereas all of the 143 rooms are located from level 35 until 40.
From 360 degree picturesque views to three notable restaurants unique to its own branding, Alila is already anticipated as the ‘IT’ spot to be the front-runner in your social media feeds. Also, not forgetting the three-storey atrium overlooking a pool, we suggest getting your unicorn floaties ready for true city-escape for the next staycation.
So, what’s good at Alila Bangsar?
Between the unflawed hospitality and the Mad Men-meets-Gossip Girl type of interior air, we were blown away by the palatial suite which boasted soaring high ceilings, a lounge area, and a spacious walk-in closet. The design of the suite had a great flow which made accessibility to each area of the room possible from any point of entry. Nothing beats a great king-sized bed overlooking stunning skylines of Kuala Lumpur beckoning you with sunrises and sunsets.
Did someone mention a free-flow?
Free-flow of snacks and beverages are always a plus, and here at Alila, they do it right. Is there anyone who can decline to a memory-provoking fancy gems of cookies or the old-school comforts of kerepek ubi? At each floor, there is a lounge that serves an array of local snacks, fresh juices, and a coffee machine for patrons to enjoy. If you are not one for heavy breakfast (which we are not), the lounge also serves small packets of nasi lemak and bite pastries in the morning for you to devour it in your pyjamas. Is it obvious that we loved this about the hotel too? I mean, who can say no to seconds when it comes to fancy coffee right?
Fitness influencing, wet and dry.
Alila Bangsar strikes major points when it comes to their fitness amenities too. Firstly, the outdoor swimming pool is a highlight on its own because it gives a reminiscent of a Balinese tranquillity we crave for, with the forged mix of plants and stones. The spacious vicinity encapsulating the pool also makes a perfect photo-op to get your IG feed updated because where else can you score a poolside snap with a boundless view of the KL in a single shot? In addition to that, guests can enjoy meals at the restaurant (Entier) or have a drink at the bar (Pacific Standard bar).
You also have the option to hit the 24-hour fitness centre instead if swimming is not your forte. The gym is well-equipped with the basic fitness necessities, hence there is virtually no reason at all for you to miss a workout.
No room for whining when dining at Alila.
Have you checked out our unique dining experience at Entier? This French restaurant with the refinement of Japanese touch is a sure-shot reason how one may feel like one has entered the elite class just by dining there. The nose-to-tail dining is definitely exquisite and given the laid-back edge of the ambiance of the joint, we certainly foresee Entier as a common favourite for patrons in days to come. You can read more about their delectable dishes here.
Breakfast at Entier, however, is a whole different scenario. Upon booking your room, we would highly recommend opting for breakfast too because Alila does away from the standard fashion of hotel buffets.
Guests are presented with an a la carte menu where they can opt for an exaggerated breakfast feast, freshly prepared upon request. As if that wasn’t enough, you can also have the regulars at the buffet that is also available at breakfast.
Though just made out of 5 floors of hotel-dwelling, Alila Bangsar excels in providing just what we need to escape the buzz of our daily routines, with poise and luxe. This property is built on a thoughtful, but comprehensive, foundation that seamlessly forges the classic with the contemporary. When one craves relaxation, Alila serves royal comforts in their rooms and ultimate zen with their lounging spots. When one needs good food, Entier and Botanica & Co (located on the ground floor of The Establishment) are definitely unparalleled. Alila Bangsar is definitely a place for families, couples and even solo travellers given the location of the place as well as the connectivity which makes commute hassle-free.
