The first bakery with an in-house bar in Kuala Lumpur.
You probably won’t notice it at the first glance as it humbly nestled in the middle of the high-rise Stripes Hotel and the famous Yut Kee Restaurant. Located at the ground floor of the new Red Hotel by Sirocco is a bakery shop that serves the goodness of daily fresh-made breads and pastries . Not only that, it is also a bakery with a bar — the first of its kind in Kuala Lumpur and it is called Barkery.
The whole concept of Barkery aims to cater to both local and international taste buds. The establishment is relatively small in which the patrons can either enjoy their pastries at the bar downstairs or properly dine at the table upstairs. The ambiance of the cafe is cosy and homey with rustic and vintage interior decor, making it a perfect spot for to have an afternoon tea.
The wow factor of the bakery is that you get to see how the breads and buns are made from scratch at the bar counter from time to time. The chef-in-charge will start baking as early as 5 o’clock in the morning until late evening, roughly around 3 – 4 pm.
The cafe offers a fair range of pastries selections that you might want to take away some to munch later.
