Admire the Craftsmanship behind World’s First 6L Crystal Cognac Decanter
The one-of-a-kind Louis XIII Le Mathusalem is currently available for viewing in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, featuring the world’s first 6-litre cognac decanter made from crystal by House of Baccarat. Crafted by hand, no two decanters are alike and requires over 20 master craftsmen to produce one piece. Legend has it that Mathusalem was the oldest man to ever live, making this a most fitting edition for first time that a cognac will produce a Mathusalem edition in crystal.
The Louis XIII Le Mathusalem is currently on display at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Couture Pavilion, Level Three throughout the month of October in conjunction with Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s Journey Of Taste. It also available for sale in Malaysia for RM318, 000.

Gawk at the First Malaysian Painting to be Worth RM1.9 Million
In conjunction with the upcoming Henry Butcher Malaysian & Southeast Asian Art Auction. Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers and Galeri Prima are organising an exhibition featuring the exquisite Malaysian and Southeast Asian art pieces that will be up for auction come 28th October 2018. The year’s second iteration of the bi-annual auction is expected to play witness to a bidders war between art connoisseurs interested in owning a masterpiece by Liu Kang dated 1955. The exhibition which kicks off today will run from 19th October until 27th October 2018 at Galeri Prima in Bangsar, and features selected pieces by the late Khalil Ibrahim in addition to the coveted Liu Kang painting.
Appreciate the Taste of a Classic Japanese Ingredient – Yuba
This October, Nobu KL ispaying homage to yuba, the classic Japanese ingredient with a special month-long Omakase menu. Yuba, the soft, chewy tofu skin that can be found in a variety of recipes across Japan, takes centre stage in a menu specifically orchestrated to bring out its unique and subtle flavours. With this special one-of-a-kind menu, Executive Chef Philip Leong and Sushi Head Chef Micheole DzChicodz Anung Dator have curated a tantalising dining experience centred on the soy-based yuba prepared in-house at Nobu KL.
Notable dishes in the menu include the Noby Style Moriwase, which features a Yuba Tarama, Nama Yuba Tiradito, and soy pudding with premium tomato juice; and the Seared Arctic Char with a homemade tofu load and Sancho pepper sauce. However, the highlight of the Omakase menu is the Wagyu Duo, a Wagyu “Shabu Shabu” rolled with fresh Yuba and served with a yuzu truffle tofu crema.

What You Missed: Flavours of Mexico in Malaysia V
Of course, some events would have slipped by without you noticing. For the fifth consecutive year Flavours of Mexico returned to Malaysia to present the authentic Mexican cuisine as part of the cultural program of The Embassy of Mexico.
The Embassy of Mexico in collaboration with JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, La Boca Latino Bar, Pisco Bar, Fresca Mexican Kitchen & Bar, Casa Latina, Loco Restaurant, YTL International College of Hotel management and Taylor’s University worked together to present a multi-venue Gastronomic Week inspired by the unique flavours and traditions of Mexico for the fifth time in Malaysia. This gastronomic event had the support of Mission Foods, La Costeña, Tequila Don Ramón and Consejo Regulador de Tequila.
